Rio Grande Games announces the release of Arctic Scavengers, a deck-building card game that is fun and interactive involving strategy, bluffing, and even a little luck

Designed by Robert K Gabhart and originally released under the Driftwood Games banner, Arctic Scavengers is set in a post-apocalyptic ice age. Each player leads a small tribe of survivors struggling for dominance after a cataclysmic climate shift has wiped out over 90% of the world's population. Braving the elements, players must scavenge for precious resources and fight for survival. Arctic Scavengers supports 2-5 players in a contest for resources, mercenaries, and valuable medicine. Build up your tribe, skirmish against other players head-to-head, or even bluff your way to victory. The player with the largest tribe at the end of the game is declared the winner!

This second-edition release through Rio Grande Games will be bundled with the first expansion, Arctic Scavengers - HQ.  In this first expansion for Arctic Scavengers, the concept of tribe leader roles is added, providing each player with unique capabilities. Additionally, players each maintain a base camp (HQ) that can be upgraded adding an additional dimension to the game. The complete bundle includes 200 full-color cards.

The Rio Grande Games plans to release of Arctic Scavengers in 2010.
